Counter Culture in the 60's brought out the rebellious and hipster side of the youth. They did not want to conform into what they believed society wanted them to be and started the "hippie" movement, which was basically people getting high and neglecting responsibilities. A new concept of "sex, drugs, and rock and roll" happened which brought new music and social norms. Many musical artists have been known to be a huge part in the counter culture movement, some include - The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The doors, Beach Boys, Led zeppelin, and many more.
A major contribution to the counter culture movement was the music festival "wood-stock." This concert lasted three days and eventually rolled into a fourth day. This was a place encouraging sex and drugs. The planning involved in Woodstock was unorganized and no one could anticipate the amount of people who would attend. Approx. half a million attended the three day festival of peace and love.
When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace"
